Monthly Performance Update: July 2026

Market Recap

Indexes were mostly flat for the month, but not without plenty of two way price action, yet not much two day plus meaningful follow through. Tech was the weakest of the indexes (QQQ/NDX). Some of the recent hot names, MU and SNDK were down 23% and 43% respectively for the month. MAGS were slightly up, although the MAG7 earnings were a mixed bag.

Our Net Performance This Month

As the indexes went, so went the strategies for the most part, with Gamma Nova being the exception and posting just under a 30% gain for the month.

The Path Ahead

As is sometimes the case, I do not have a strong opinion one way or the other for market direction the next month, or the rest of the year for the matter. The AI boom is still definitely intact, but as with anything, things can change quickly. It seems the Iran conflict is not going away anytime soon and will be an on/off theme for the near term future at the minimum. In the words of Mark Douglas - "You do not have to know what is going to happen next in the markets to make money."
